NT Respite Care Plus is aware and appreciative of the passion for those with disabilities to remain as independent as possible in their home. It’s for this reason that we ensure that we provide a range of services that are tailored to allow this to happen.

We bring more than our knowledge to the table, as for us, home care is a vocation that we intend to continue providing. We appreciate each of our clients and the complexity of their needs, and it’s this that remains at the forefront of our service. Your goals are our goals.

Supported Independent Living

We can help individuals with disabilities or additional needs get the support they need to continue living independently, whether that is daily assistance, or just checking in on a regular basis.

What is Supported Independent Living?

Supported Independent Living (SIL) is sometimes called shared accommodation.  SIL is an NDIS support where a person with a disability lives with other people. You will also receive support with everyday tasks like cleaning, cooking and personal care.


At NT Respite Care Plus properties we provide our customers with a comfortable and secure home. 

Support is different depending on your needs but it can include:

Cleaning and laundry

Nutrition and cooking

Personal care such as showering and dressing

Going to appointments

Taking medication

Taking up a hobby

Supported Independent Living is funded under Core Supports – Assistance with Daily Life in your NDIS plan.  The NDIS does not fund the cost of rent, board, transport, and other day-to-day expenses such as food and activities.

  • Will I be included in household decisions?
    • Yes! All our customers are part of the household routines and decisions.
    • This can be done in different ways depending what each household prefers. As an example, in some houses, the housemates choose to sit down for a meeting each week to make decisions about their home.
  • What type of properties does NTRCP offer?

    We have a wide range of shared properties, we will work with you to find something that’s just right.

  • Who will I be living with?

    We know it’s important that people click and get along.  Tell us what you like or don’t like in a housemate, and we’ll do our best to match you with people who tick your boxes and have similar interests.

Short Term / Medium Term Accommodation/
Respite Care

Whether you or someone in your care needs short term / medium term accommodation or respite care, the NT Respite Care Plus team can assist. We provide both short term and medium term respite care when needed to our clients.
